​We are looking for a Junior / Assistant Pre Con Manager for a D&B fitout firm that does Cat A&B office fitouts in London and across the northern home counties / Midlands. The role will require a fair bit of travel but plenty of opportunity to grow and become a Pre Con Manager.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Take-offs & Estimating:

    Perform accurate quantity take-offs for projects, ensuring that all materials, labour, and other costs are captured for comprehensive estimates.

  • Pricing Research & Coordination:

    Pull and organize pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure accurate and competitive bids for projects.

  • Prepare Cost Estimates:

    Develop and compile detailed cost estimates based on take-offs, pricing, and project requirements, ensuring estimates align with project specifications and goals.

  • Travel to Project Sites:

    Conduct site visits as needed to evaluate project conditions, gather data, and refine estimates based on actual site circumstances.

  • Collaboration with Project Teams:

    Work closely with Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, and clients to ensure estimates are accurate and meet project requirements.

  • Transition to Preconstruction:

    Over time, expand your role by taking on additional preconstruction responsibilities, including budget management, schedule development, and scope definition.

  • Bid Analysis & Recommendations:

    Analyse bids received from subcontractors and vendors, ensuring they meet project requirements and standards. Provide recommendations for award decisions.

  • Risk Identification & Mitigation:

    Assist in identifying potential risks during the estimating phase and contribute to strategies for mitigating those risks.

  • Documentation & Reporting:

    Maintain organized documentation for all estimating activities, ensuring that records are up-to-date and easily accessible for the project team.
